Kelimutu is one of the main attractions on Flores Island. It is probably the only such crater lakes in the world. Three lakes next to each other at an altitude of 1680 m above sea level. Each have different colors due to active mineral dissolve.
The program gives you a chance to enjoy the beauty of the natural wonder with the people and its civilization. The visit to the villages and traditional houses are included in the program. To comprehend the people's daily life, the way they produce Ikat weaving and how they live their lives.

Day 01 Arrival in Maumere (either from Bali or Kupang/Timor island)
Upon arrival meeting service and then visit Watublapi or Nita village to have a closer look on how local women produce Ikat weaving with natural dyes. There you will be greeted by the villagers with dances and songs. Later on transfer to your hotel and overnight.
Day 2 MAUMERE - MONI or DETUSOKO
The morning program is to visit local daily market or if your visit coincides with weekly markets next to your hotel then visit one of them (Tuesday and Saturday: Maumere weekly market, Monday: Nita weekly market and Friday: Geliting weekly market it is the most colorful one).
Proceed then to Wuring - a fisherman village with houses on stilts. The next visit is Ledalero Museum, it is an ethnological museum done by the late Father Piet Petu. The museum has a good collection of Flores and adjacent islands cultural items, from various types of Ikat weaving to huge African elephant tusks brought by Portuguese merchants in the 15th century. Your lunch will be provided in town or en route to Moni. Afternoon before check in visit Lisedetu village with traditional Lio Houses.
Day 3 MONI or DETUSOKO - KELIMUTU - COLORED LAKES - MAUMERE
The best time to visit Kelimutu colored lakes is early in the morning as normally the weather is friendly enough to give you complete vision over the three colored lakes. To experience the sunrise over the lakes is a memorable occasion. Start early in the morning for the sun rise (04.00 AM). The trek to the summit starts from the parking lot for about 2 km to reach the view point. Once your arrive at the summit you'll experience the fantastic wonders of nature. A bright turquoise colored lake in front of you makes think what you are seeing is not real. It looks more like a make up of millions of colours littered with turquoise paint being thrown into a deep crater.
Then trek back to the parking lot to take a car to visit Ranggase - a village in Jopu area with huge Lio traditional houses and Ikat weaving. Along the way you will pass villages with women busy weaving. Take your time to meet locals in their own villages. Afternoon drive back to Maumere and free program.
Day 4 MAUMERE - NEXT DESTINATION
Morning at leisure until time to transfer to the airport to take flight to your next destination.
