Itinerary
Day 01 Labuan Bajo - Ruteng - Bajawa about 270 km

You will be picked up at the harbor of Labuanbajo and start driving in land to reach Bajawa in the heart of Flores about 270 km away. The drive through the winding road almost all day long gives you chance to drive slow to enjoy the panoramic view of Flores with soaring volcanoes, cloud forest and valleys. Photo stops are provided along the way. One of the must stop is in Cancar area which is about 25 km before Ruteng. It is a place where you can witness the only such rice fields named Lingko. The rice field dikes are formed in such a way to form a kind of spider web shapes, which you can spot them in Google earth. It reflects the cultural concept of Manggarai ethnic. Lunch will be provided in Ruteng. Afternoon drive to Bajawa, it is another beautiful drive the first stop will be in Ranamese where the Crater Lake is located amongst the cloud forest. After Ranamese you will drive down hill to reach Borong and Aimere in the south coast of Flores. After Aimere you will again drive up hill to reach Bajawa in the altitude of about 1.195 m above sea level.

Day 02 Bajawa - Ende - Moni about 180 km

Visit Bajawa morning market and then proceed to Wogo, a typical Ngadha ethnic traditional village with rows of traditional houses built in wood and bamboo construction with grass roof. Take your time here to comprehend the cultural values of the ethnic. Then drive to Boawae to visit a traditional village of Nagekeo ethnic with soaring and ever smoke of Mt. Ebulobo. Proceed then to Penggajawa - a beach in south coast of Flores where locals collect blue pebbles for inter insular trading. Lunch will be provided in Ende - a historic town in Indonesian history. It is a place where Mr. Sukarno - the world famous Indonesian Founding Father and first President of the republic exiled by Dutch administration in 1930's. If it time permits, take your chance to visit the exile house of Mr. Sukarno. Afternoon drive to Moni at the elevation of 695 m above sea level.

Day 03 Moni - Kelimutu - Bajawa about 204 km

It is advised to start early in the morning as to maximize the chance to experience sunrise from the Kelimutu colored lakes. Drive up hill to reach Kelimutu in the altitude of 1670 m above sea level. Upon arrival at parking lot, start trek about 1.5 km and about 144 steps up hill to reach the view point of Kelimutu, from where one can see the three colored lakes. It is one of the well-known nature wonder of Indonesia with ever changing color lakes. After admiring the nature wonder of Kelimutu, drive down hill to reach Nduaria fruit and vegetable market then drive back to Ende for lunch. Afternoon drive back to Bajawa.

Day 04 Bajawa - Bena - Ruteng - Labuanbajo about 309 km

Early morning drive to Bena - it is one of the most beautiful traditional villages on the island. Savu Sea in the far left hand side and soaring stratovolcano of Mt. Inerie on the right. Drive through villages, bamboo forest, coffee plantations, and other tropical plants. Take your chance to take photo stops such as next to Manulalu home stay, from where one can see traditional houses rooftops from various villages emerge from behind the bamboo forest. Approaching Bena, get off from your vehicle and walk down to the village. (If today is Sunday it is better to take the Langa route, where en route you will meet hundreds of people going to or returning from beautiful church of Langa with Mt. Inerie in the background). Proceed then to Ruteng for lunch and afternoon drive back to Labuanbajo.
