You will be picked up at the airport of Tambolaka in West Sumba.

Pasola Festival 2012
In this breath-taking event, hundreds of brave horsemen gather in a circular runway to throw flying spears at each other. Each player tries to use tactics and mostly interacting mockery to win.
They also believe the bloodshed will be an offering to the mother earth to have good produce and life throughout the year.
This is a festival on horseback held every year in four different areas in West Sumba. It is held as a part of greeting the Nyale or sea worms, along the south and west coastal areas. This Pasola event is preceded by the Nyale ritual that takes place on a shore nearby and led by Marapu priest (Rato) at dawn.
Pasola schedules: Pasola will take place in the following areas
- Lamboya: February 14, 2012
- Tossi / Kodi bangedo: February 15 and 16, 2012
- Wanokaka: March 13, 2012
- Wainyapu: March 16, 2016
Day 01 DENPASAR - TAMBOLAKA by Lion JT 1832 10.10/11.35
Upon arrival meeting service and transfer to your hotel. The guide will arrange your afternoon program according to the location of your hotel. You may visit traditional villages next to Waikabubak, Lamboya or Tambolaka area.
Day 02 Attend Pasola in Wanokaka or Wainyapu
Attend the Pasola Festival. Picnic lunch. Afternoon visit traditional villages around the area.
Day 03/ Visit Villages in Kodi area or Lamboya and Wanokaka
Day 04 TAMBOLAKA - DENPASAR by Merpati 10.05 / 11.35
Morning free program until time to transfer to Tambolaka airport to take flight back to Bali
Places worth to visit:
Kodi area: the area offers many Sumba villages with traditional houses as high as coconut trees. The following villages are worth including on the program: Parona Baroro, Bondokawangu and Tosi.
Lamboya area: There are beautiful traditional villages and white sand beaches. Such as Kadengar which is located next to the main road. Sodan is located high up on the hill, it is a village where the Rato of Lamboya stayed. To reach the village one have to trek crossing rivers and rice fields.
Wanokaka area: The known villages in the area are: Waigali, it is a village where Rato of Wanokaka Pasola stayed. Next to Wanokaka itself is Praigoli village with traditional houses and carved stone tombs.

March is still in rainy season, please kindly take notice on the following items:
- Bring your own umbrella or raincoat
