Place: Riung, Soa, Boawae Central Flores
Mbela, Etu and Sagi are the names given by different ethnic groups in central Flores for a martial art festival held after the harvest season (July - August). It is a joyous occasion. The main attraction is where two men are involved in a fierce traditional boxing duel without gloves but using a tool named "wolet" (Tadho ethnic) made of tied up palm stalk.

Wula Podu or Bulan Pemali or Taboo Month is a period on the Marapu calendar when the people in Tarung, Waitabar and adjacent villages celebrating a full month of prohibiting doing various things which may affect the harvest on the next season.

Place: West and Central Flores
Caci or Larik is a martial art where two men hit each other by turn with a buffalo hide whip. If one strikes, the opponent will use a shield made of buffalo hide and a rattan or bamboo stick to defend himself.

Rebha is a festival when the Ngadha ethnic commemorate the hard years when their ancestors relied on local sweet potato (Uwi) as the main food. Ooo Uwi is chanted repeatedly at this festival.
